Sentient eyes gaze backward,
tearing time’s sanctuary curtain
to witness a holy birth:
Earth is awakened by volcanic alarms;
lightning creases the primordial sky,
leaving a wake of our chemical ancestry.
The slow ascent of destiny has begun,
encoded in the twists of DNA:
Preservation of self, of species,
subjugation of the whole world.
Man, ruling all, knowing all except himself.
