In the Land of Maple Leaves
Night soothes the pain of the day. I welcome a blanket of stars.
Beneath the night sky, my garden sleeps.
The moon appears from behind a mountain.
Beyond the mountain there are mountains even higher.
Trees with red leaves are pillars of a temple.
The moon disappears behind a cloud, playing hide-and-seek.
Wind shakes the leaves. They whisper their secrets.
A leaf grows wings and flies from its home.
Days fall like the leaves and are gone forever.
